Bdouin County is the fastest growing county in Alabama with a large number of out-of-state buyers moving there. As a result, the influx increased demand for housing and led to higher prices, even as rising interest rates dampened the market last year.
Rachel Romasch Reese, owner of Ritter and Elite Re Estate Solutions in Daphne, said out-of-state buyers are attracted to Bdouin County because of its strategic coastal location and low cost of living. Buyers from places with higher taxes and a higher cost of living can find more real estate at better prices in Bdouin County. He said many of his customers come from states like California or Michigan.
